Why the vacuum pump oil seal leaked?

1. Excessive pressure inside the pump

When the vacuum pump works in the higher vacuum range, the pressure inside the pump will become smaller and smaller, if the pump body is not well sealed, the pressure inside the pump will be too large leading to oil entering the pump chamber through the seal.

2. Bad sealing

Poor sealing of the vacuum pump is the main reason for oil leakage. In the pump body and booster, rotary vane or vane, between rotary vane and pump body, as well as between rotary vane and vane, all need to seal with O-ring and other seals. If the seal is not tight, the oil will seep out from the seal.

3. Improper lubrication of pump oil

Vacuum pump adopts lubricating oil to lubricate, improper lubrication of pump oil may also lead to oil leakage. For example:

(1) The oil is too thin: the oil will easily seep out through the seal.

(2) The oil is too thick: the oil is too viscous and cannot flow to the lubrication part, resulting in friction loss.

(3) Excessive oil contamination: Dirt or water in the oil can cause seals to swell, wear or deform, resulting in oil leaks.
